"Connection is why we're here; it is what gives purpose and meaning to our lives. The power that connection holds in our lives was confirmed when the main concern about connection emerged as the fear of disconnection; the fear that something we have done or failed to do, something about who we are or where we come from, has made us unlovable and unworthy of connection."

My quest for resilience Reviews

Rebecca

Once I picked up your book, I couldn’t put it down. I have written essays about resilience which earned me high marks in my degree but now believe that I was not joining the dots so to speak and relating it to everyday life. Your book was both enlightening and inspiring. Definitely as individuals, we are shaped by the differing experiences that life throws at us and we all deal with life differently depending on so many different factors but we will always need the connection and support from family and friends. Despite writing about so many challenging and sad events which have occurred in your life, you manage to see humour in the most unlikely of places. I really enjoyed reading your books and look forward to reading your next one.”

I acknowledge the traditional owners of the land where I work, live and raise my family.  I honour their traditions and history and thank them deeply for their care of this land, sea and sky.  I thank them for the privilege it is for me to be able to call Australia home; to sink my feet into the soil where, over millenia, generations have walked before me.  I offer my respect to Aboriginal elders; past, present and emerging and thank them for patiently teaching me.
