The Anatomy of Domestic Violence

The Anatomy of Domestic Violence

The world is in a crisis when it comes to domestic violence. Systems are failing victim-survivors; both adults and children and they are also failing perpetrators.

This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the entrenched social, legal and government systems that impact the safety of individuals and families. Angharad will challenge participants to consider their own personal biases, fears and the language they use. She will provide practical strategies so that attendees feel equipped to act when faced with victim-survivors or perpetrators of domestic violence rather than be a bystander.

This workshop is an introduction to the topic. It is not designed for experienced practitioners who work directly with family violence. It is designed for professionals and members of the community who come alongside domestic violence in their working or day to day lives.

This workshop can be presented as a full day, half day or keynote address and can be adjusted for the individual audience.

I acknowledge the traditional owners of the land where I work, live and raise my family.  I honour their traditions and history and thank them deeply for their care of this land, sea and sky.  I thank them for the privilege it is for me to be able to call Australia home; to sink my feet into the soil where, over millenia, generations have walked before me.  I offer my respect to Aboriginal elders; past, present and emerging and thank them for patiently teaching me.
