Raising Resilient Kids in a Messy World

Raising Resilient Kids in a Messy World

Resilience is a word that is used so much nowadays but what does it really mean?

Anxiety is rife amongst our children. The world is in a seemingly never ending round of crises. Education systems seem to be missing the mark when it comes to educating children despite the passion and commitment of teachers. Kids are overwhelmed and so are their parents.

This half day workshop is aimed at professionals who support families as well as parents and carers. Angharad will introduce participants to the neuroscience of stress and anxiety and provide practical ways they can support children to build resilience. She may challenge participants with ideas that might seem counterintuitive because after all, we can’t prepare the road for our children so we have to prepare our children for the road.

I acknowledge the traditional owners of the land where I work, live and raise my family.  I honour their traditions and history and thank them deeply for their care of this land, sea and sky.  I thank them for the privilege it is for me to be able to call Australia home; to sink my feet into the soil where, over millenia, generations have walked before me.  I offer my respect to Aboriginal elders; past, present and emerging and thank them for patiently teaching me.
